Give yourself permission to be happy
It’s hard to be happy when you feel like there’s something you’re not doing right or being enough. The truth is, there are no rules that tell you how to be happy. But here are five things I’ve learned on my journey.

3) Take care of your body and treat it with respect.
4) Laugh (a lot).
5) Simplify (to make life easier).
6) Be around people who love you.
7) Surround yourself with people who are living what they love.
8) Get in nature as often as possible.
9) Spend time alone (don’t give up any relationships).
10) Drink lots of water and eat lots of healthy food!
Do something that makes you happy every day
One of the first things that you can do to increase your happiness is to do something every day that makes you happy. It doesn’t matter what the activity is as long as it brings joy into your life. The key is doing something each day, because making yourself happy one day doesn’t mean anything if you’re not doing it again tomorrow. Here are some ideas:
-Watch an episode of your favorite show
-Talk with someone about their interests
-Read a book
-Listen to music
-Take time out of your busy schedule to have breakfast or lunch with a friend
-Play with your pet
-Draw or paint a picture (or do any other art)
Let go of what’s holding you back
Rule one is to let go of what’s holding you back. This may be an activity, a belief, or even a person. It doesn’t matter how big or small it is – if it’s hurting your ability to be happy and healthy, then it’s time to let it go.
Rule two of the rules for a good life is to reduce overwhelm by spending less time on things that don’t make you happy. You can also set personal limits, such as limiting the number of hours spent on social media each day. When you’re feeling overwhelmed, try doing something that makes you feel good in order to take the pressure off of yourself and remember why the task matters in the first place.
Rule three is to stop thinking so much about what other people think of you! There will always be people who are jealous of you or who are critical. Don’t spend your energy trying to please them; instead, use that energy to do the things you want to do for yourself.
Focus on self-care:It’s the fourth rule of the five rules for a good life. If you need help in this area, talk with someone close to you who understands what it feels like when your mental health needs attention – whether they have anxiety themselves or just know someone who does.
And finally, rule five: have fun every day! Sometimes we get caught up in our routine and forget to have fun, but finding ways to enjoy life is the most important part of having a good life. Find what you enjoy doing and then give yourself permission to do it!
Be grateful for what you have
The first of the five rules for a good life is to be grateful for what you have. Gratitude is not just being thankful, it’s also recognizing all that you’re blessed with. Being appreciative will help you feel happy and content. It’s important to focus on the positive and to appreciate what you already have. What are some things in your life that you’re grateful for?
The second rule for happiness is to take care of yourself. Take care of your body by sleeping enough, eating well, and exercising regularly. It’s important to take time out for yourself so you can do things you enjoy like relaxing or spending time with family or friends. If we don’t take care of ourselves we won’t be able to enjoy anything else in our lives as much.
The third rule is to help others. Being nice and helping others makes us feel good. It’s important to be kind and try to improve other people’s lives. If you can do things to help others it will make you feel happy as well as them, so it’s a win-win!
The fourth rule is to be optimistic. You can choose how you want to see things, and it’s important to choose to see things in a positive light. An optimistic person is usually happier than someone who always looks at the negative side of things. Look at life from both sides and you’ll find that there is much more good than bad!
The fifth rule of happiness is to be forgiving. Holding on to anger and hurt can be harmful, but releasing those feelings will help you feel better. If someone has hurt you in any way, it’s important not to stay bitter but rather let go so you can move on and be happy. You deserve to be happy, so don’t let anything or anyone take that away from you!
Surround yourself with positive people
To live a happy life, surround yourself with positive people. Friends can make you feel better about yourself, lift your spirits when you’re down and motivate you to be the best person you can be. They also remind you that everyone has good days and bad days, so yours doesn’t have to mean anything more than that. Hang out with them more often than not if possible. If they do something that bothers you, talk to them privately and politely tell them how it made you feel.
If they don’t stop after the first time or two, then stop hanging out with them because their negativity is affecting your moods too much.
Having friends is important because they are there for you when things go wrong in life.
Surrounding yourself with positive people will help bring joy into your world!
